Scent and Warmer of the Month Subscription
The Scent of the Month Subscription is a great way to market your business. Not only to do get commission on the kit and discounted product, you get a reason every month to contact your customers! The subscription comes with 50 flyers, make it your goal to attach a sample (instructions below) and give out, deliver or mail all 50 flyers. It’s a great excuse to call a customer and say, I would like to drop by to give you a free sample of a new Scentsy scent!
Scentsy offers Consultants subscriptions to monthly product specials, which they can receive before products become available to customers. They are offered to Consultants at a discounted price. These subscriptions and fees are completely optional. You can access, change, or add subscriptions and fees by going to the Account tab on your Workstation. You have two options available, the Scent of the month or the Warmer of the Month (which includes everything from Scent of the Month).
When you sign up for the Scent of the Month or Warmer of the month, it is shipped out on the 15th so you get the bars/warmer at least two weeks before it is for sale. This allows time to get everything labeled and mailed before the first of the month. Since it is automatic you don’t have to worry about remembering to purchase something each month.

Scent of the Month Kit

The Scent of the Month Kit contains products to help Consultants promote a brand new scent being released the following month. (In February you would get the March Scent of the month & Warmer of the month flyers/products)
You cannot buy these products or business supplies until the Month they are sold to the customers.

Price: $60 per month

Value: $100 worth of product (Scent of the month plus premium warmer)
This combination kit includes all of the items in the Scent of the Month Kit, PLUS a brand new warmer being released the following month. Consultants who choose not to subscribe must wait to purchase featured warmers until they are released to the public. The warmers are usually a premium warmer but not always.
What to Do With It
This is a monthly subscription that counts towards your PRV and you earn commission on it. If you are interested in growing your business, I recommend you sign up for this subscription! This is not about if you like the warmer or scent, it is about your customers! Find a customer for each warmer and scent. Make it a game/challenge to pass out all 50 flyers before the end of the month.

Samples
If you want to melt the samples and make them look pretty I stopped doing that because it took too much time and by warming the wax it will loose some of it’s strength. Here is a video I created to explain how I make my samples: How to Make Samples.
Recently I started making samples using the “felt” method because down south it gets way too hot for our wax and it melts as soon as I put the sample in the mail. Here is a video on how I make scentsy samples with felt: Samples for the Hot Summer – Felt
How to Move the Products
One idea to sell the warmer – send out an email to your customer the last of the month with the warmer of the month flyer. Tell them if they order the warmer before the end of the month they will get a free bar of the scent of the month. For example – send out an email to your customer the last of the month with the warmer of the month flyer. Tell them if they order the new warmer before June 30th they will get a free bar of the scent of the month.
Another way to move the products – bring the warmer with you to ALL the parties as well as the bars. Customers like immediate gratification so you can sell them there. Even if it was last month’s special. You do not need to sell 10% off it it is no longer the warmer/scent of the month.
How it Works
You subscribe to the Scent of the Month or Warmer of the Month subscription on your account tab. You will enter your credit card information. Each month, on the 15th of the month (or closest business day) the warmer & scent of the month is scent.
You can cancel the subscription any time by going to your accounts tab. You will want to make sure to do this BEFORE the 15th.
The new Scent and Warmer of the month are posted in the workstation the 1st of the month. The warmer and scent of the month follow the holiday or seasonal themes and are usually the month ahead.
If you decide half-way through the month you want to order the Scent of the Month or Scent and Warmer of the month you can! Just go to your account tab before the 28th of the month and subscribe to the subscription. You will be sent the scent & warmer of the month for the next month. (In February it’s the 26th).
Example: August 1st the September warmer of the month is posted. The September warmer is a Halloween themed warmer since October would be the month customers would use the warmer. That way you get a whole month to sell a warmer that will be used for a full month.
Some people look at the warmer of the month on the 1st and decide if they have a specific customer they can sell it. If not then they will just keep the Scent of the Month subscription and not get the warmer that month.
The Scent and Warmer of the Month flyer is posted in your Workstation under the Resources tab. Look on the left side for “Monthly Promotions”
The Cost/Benefit Analysis
I cannot tell you how much I believe in using the Scent of the month in your business. At a minimum I would suggest the Scent of the Month subscription. I have heard people say they can’t afford it or don’t these subscriptions because they don’t want to be stuck with the bars. So, let’s do the math and see what you really get.
The subscription is $35 plus tax and shipping. To make things easy we are going to use $35 for this discussion as well as the % for a certified consultant or above.
You get 35 PRV which means it only cost you $26.25 (25% of $35)
Each bar can be sold for $5 and room sprays $8
To break even on a cost perspective you need to sell 7 bars ($35/$5= 7 bars, could be more if sold in 6pks with inventory you already have)
or
1 Room Spray and 6 bars. (($35/8))/$5
Once you have sold 7 bars (or room spray and bars) you have broken even.
Also Consider:
The Scent and Warmer of the month subscriptions come with business supplies to work your business. This includes the Party Tester, Mini Tester, Flyers and Stickers. These supplies are not available to purchase through the Scentsy Family store until the 1st of the month when the warmer & scent is available for purchase.
You cannot purchase one mini tester, they come in a pack of 5 for $1.50 (you can purchase one party tester for $1).
